In the Plant Sales area, we endeavour to supply high quality plants at reasonable prices so that everybody can enjoy a taste of Trebah to take home with them.

We are now propagating more material from the garden than ever before and will be able to offer these as our own Trebah Collection of plants this year, which mirror those you can see during your visit - along with information and advice as to how you can successfully transplant these into your own garden at home.

As well as unusual and sub-tropical plants, we also stock many hardy garden plants which we consider to be the best performers of their type, great value for money, and suited to conditions in most areas of the UK – these include shrubs, herbaceous and some new patio and basket plants for spring this year.

The Plant Centre offers a mail order service for our ever-popular ‘Plants by Post’.  Young plants are supplied in 9cm liner pots and the price includes a care information leaflet, postage and packing, and a gift card for your own personal message. We are currently unable to offer direct purchasing from the website, but if you would like to place an order for a plant or any of our seeds, please contact us in the Garden Shop on 01326 252219, or email debbie@trebah-garden.co.uk and somebody will call you back to give you more details.

Plants for May

Aeonium are wonderful, fleshy, succulent plants with a range of coloured foliage and shape and sizes. A.cuneatum is looking great in the walls at the moment with it's giant rosettes of fleshy green leaves and sprays of yellow star-shaped flowers. A. 'Schwarzkopf' always looks fabulous with it's purple-black rosettes and bushy upright habit giving amazing contrast with whatever it is close to. Plants are available from £3.99.

Euryops pectinatus is a ray of sunshine in the garden at this time of the year. Lovely, divided, silvery foliage sets off masses of large golden-yellow daisy flowers throughout the winter, spring and summer - forming a lovely bushy shrub, which never fails to please. Requiring a sunny position in a well-drained soil, this super shrub requires little attention, but may need some protection from harder frosts in more northern areas of the UK. Budded and flowering plants are currently on sale from £2.99 to £8.99 depending upon size.

Grevilla are wonderful shrubs originating in Australia, but thriving beautifully in our Cornish climate. Frost-hardy and evergreen, they are a good year-round plant giving a little winter colour from their flowers during January and February, but really excel from March onwards when the buds open up into unusual spidery-shaped flowers in a range of colours including red, pink and cream and continue to bloom for several months giving a wonderful long-lasting display. We stock G. Olympic Flame and G. rosmarinifolia, which can be seen growing here at the garden entrance and on the banks of the Hibbert Centre. Prices are from £3.99 to £8.99 depending on size and type.

Primula - the Candelabra Primulas are looking their best in the Water Garden this month, with erect stems carrying tiers of flowers in bold yellows, reds and a strong, bright white. Prices for budded plants start at £2.99 up to £4.99.
