A Father's Day Classic at Trebah

On Sunday 15th June, Trebah celebrated Father's Day with a tribute to Donald Healey C.B.E. who lived at Trebah between 1961 and 1971.

To mark this occasion, Donald Healey's Austin Healey 3000 car visited Trebah and was put through its paces by driving down (and then back up) Healey's Hill.

The car was then put on display on the beach next to the Boathouse that Donald Healey built. During the time Donald Healey lived at Trebah he ran a successful orchid business and supplied cut flowers to London where they were bought by many famous London restaurants for display.

Trebah Garden Trust have dedicated the Boathouse to the memory of this great Cornishman and there is a small display of Healey memorabilia and a plaque paying tribute to this famous resident.

 

Faerie Fun Day

On Thursday 29th May, lots of children dressed up and came along to the Vinery to make their own faerie and wizard wands. Here are just two of the children who took part in the fun:

 

Trebah Celebrates its 21st Birthday in Carnival Style!

On Sunday 20th April, Trebah Garden opened its doors to the public and celebrated its 21 years of being a popular garden attraction in Cornwall. To celebrate this occasion, Trebah decided to create a Carnival atmosphere, putting on entertainment throughout the day from Swamp Circus, Hammered Steel band to face painting, music and craft workshops.
